As with most of the material you will find here, because these posts tend to be quite long, you can find an audio version of this page in a folder here. There really is no obvious way to introduce something as heavy as what 2EQ defines, and some time ago we gave up seeking to explain what it means in any written or recorded form, and began chatting about it instead. I understand it is unusual, but in the end we have simply been forced to do what works, and to abandon what doesn't. So this is really the only message you will find here by the time we reach the end - the real game in this context will only begin the moment you enter some kind of dialogue with others directly. And yes, that perhaps seems a little archaic in our modern age of digital self-empowerment, but it is perhaps a bit like learning Judo in that sense. Even today, you still can't really learn Judo from a book. It's just not that sort of thing. The central insight is not even that complicated, not in essence. But what we will be pointing at here is unique - a kind of blindness in the mind, and this is where we find the trouble. It is right at the beginning. This is the problem - you can point right at it, and people won't see anything at all. And you can point even harder, and they still won't see. It is incredibly resistant at first, almost miraculously so. But then, if you keep going just a little further, the entire thing will vanish like a bubble, and suddenly an entire field of previously hidden activity will become visible and obvious. There is a kind of membrane that needs to be popped. So what is revealed? It is no secret, and it is being offered quite freely here. But in the end you will simply need to see that part for yourself, and this will be our aim I suppose. That will not be achieved in this brief space, and not in this one-way format. This is what we have learned. That most important point of initial 'capture' seems to tip a balance, it is like a key that will then open all of the other doors. Conversely, if you don't have that key then you might wander aimlessly here forever, and still not understand anything. Not really. And we have seen this also, far too many times now. So this is all you need to know at the start - if you are not chatting yet, then you are not doing it. All the rest is just preparation for that. But as you can see here we still need to write a bit occasionally, if only to help get things started. Just don't expect this to be pretty. This written option has been let go somewhat, like a garden that is just growing wild now. And no doubt what you see below will only be one more example of that. So what you see here will just be my most recent bit of graffiti in that sense, posted up here temporarily, until it is painted over before long with my next bit. We are just playing around now in this abandoned one-way format. In any case, this will just be one more snapshot of a picture that has already been more than adequately defined in all the various Intros and Primers, so you could certainly skip what you see here and jump straight into those instead. And yet, we will try to capture the whole thing here in a nutshell for you, one more time. Hopefully whatever you find here will at least go some way towards sketching out the broad framework for you, and perhaps begin to explain to you what this emerging paradigm is all about. — So anyway, where to begin? We might start off by taking a big step back for a moment, so as to view the widest possible picture - The term 2EQ is just a name, an abbreviated place-filler in a sense, and will probably be replaced before too long with something more appropriate. But what that term points to is the key thing. The central insight emerging here is so vast and dramatic that we really do need to zoom right out in order to capture the overall scale and significance. As you will see, there has really never been anything like this before, and you almost certainly won't grasp it at first, as indicated. So let's take the biggest bite we can take - With the world in so much obvious turmoil, with all manner of pending breakthroughs or catastrophe seeming to be looming over us at the same time, we are increasingly flooded in life with ideas about how best to move forward, and which path to take. The more lost we get, the more these maps just keep piling up, until all reasonable conversation is drowned out by a million voices. We can't even agree about what is really going on. And at the individual level it is perhaps even worse, with an increasingly confused and stressed state being confronted with the same information overload. Of course, there are some who have managed to insulate themselves from the deeper realities being lived through by most, and in these people we see a kind of myopic and trance-like immersion in their own little 'gated communities', both literally in the world, and figuratively speaking, within themselves. And that wouldn't necessarily be so bad except that these few tend to be the ones who are steering the ship. These people are generally very certain that what they are doing is the right thing, and that 'we couldn't all be wrong', but this only ever manages to work as long as they never accidentally look beyond the wall. But then there are a few who are willing to look deeper - both within themselves and out into the world - and who are not so blind to the obvious dangers and conflicts. We face unprecedented challenges at this moment in history, and we also face these challenges carrying the very unfortunate weight of atrophy generated by the longest single stretch of peace and prosperity in recorded memory - a kind of golden moment in human history - where people now seem to have completely forgotten how bad things can get, and how quickly they can get there. We seem to have totally lost sight of just how miraculous the current situation is, how tall the house of cards has become in that sense, and just how sudden the collapse might be. These are obviously very big questions, and for the most part beyond the conscious concerns of many people. But as we say, the same basic picture can be seen at the individual level, where just as much confusion exists regarding what it means to live a good life, and where meaning or happiness might be found. So yes, these are very big questions. They could be the biggest questions of all. And In some sense this begins to explain the main problem with what 2EQ brings to light. It is a very big solution to a very big problem. It might even be the biggest answer to the deepest question of all. This is perhaps why direct conversation has become the main path here now, at least in the first instance. There are a few possible reasons it seems to be necessary, but this is probably the main one. It is all about the scale of what is being defined. It is just too deep to grasp at first, but then - when you do finally grasp it - the shock can be even more dramatic. So a bit of friendly assistance can be helpful on both sides of that line. I mean, consider what we have just sketched out in relation to life as a whole - both collectively as well as individually - and think about everything you currently know in terms of available 'answers' or 'solutions'. Think about the way you frame all of that, and the various paths those maps indicate. What are you pinning your hopes on? What are the true dangers, and where do the true solutions lie? What kind of maps do you use as you think about such things? If what 2EQ defines is basically correct, then something very important is presently missing from all of those pictures, and as a result you have been left completely unaware of what the true problems are, along with what the single most dramatic solution of all might look like. I understand this is a very bold claim, but think about it - how much would that explain? What if the biggest problem in the world was not even being looked at, let alone being addressed at all? And what if the deepest problem you personally face within yourself was likewise not clearly identified, let alone being fixed in any way. Indeed, what if these were the same problem? What would the world look like in that case? And how might you feel? Really, if some benevolent race of alien explorers arrived here today, having visited many other civilizations along the way, and immediately observed that we seem to all be suffering from some sort of profound existential confusion, an affliction that was driving us all crazy in a sense - making us suffer and do strange and unpredictable things - would that basically fit what we see? Would that make sense? And what if they told us that this dis-ease could not only be understood, but that it also had a cure? What might that be worth? Put another way, AGI really is a kind of alien intelligence, and it really is about to arrive. So what do you think it is going to see? What do you think it is going to tell us that we would have trouble seeing for ourselves? What are we uniquely blind to, that a fresh and unfiltered perspective might be able to see immediately? This is what they are going to tell us - The biggest problem we face is sitting right in front of us in a sense, but we can't see it. And likewise with the biggest solution - it is sitting within easy reach of even a moderate bit of collective development, but we don't even know it is there. Nobody is even pursuing it. So as we look out into the world, we all share this big evolving map, like a constellation in a sense, with various stars twinkling away. We see AI emerging over here, and the next pandemic boiling away over there, and all manner of other consideration vying for attention. But what we don't see is the big black hole resting right in the middle of all of that. And this is what 2EQ does - it is like switching your goggles to be able to see gravity instead, and all of a sudden the entire picture changes. When you see what this problem is, and especially when you see what the solution might be, suddenly it is as if you see a supernova go off right in the middle of the starfield of questions and answers we are currently using to navigate our way forward both in our own lives, and in the world as a whole. It is an absolutely eclipsing possibility. And once again, this is the problem with 2EQ - it is just too big to get your head around at first. Most people fall over backwards in shock, the first time they put these goggles on. Fortunately, however, it is not something that everyone will need to understand. Like nuclear physics, it will take just a few in order to unlock the entire thing for everyone else. So it is only these few we need to be concerned with here at first - just these 'nuclear physicist' level intellects, so to speak. And whilst that might sound a little elitist, you should be relieved. If you happen to be one of these few, then this will be the ride of a lifetime. And if not, then you can just sit back and let them do all the work for you. So it works out well in either case. The only thing we don't want to do is put anyone who can't fly in the pilot's seat, and we will get to that in more detail below. So how might we give you some idea of what we are actually talking about here? In which direction are we pointing when we make these very dramatic claims, and just how far in that direction are we talking? Until you have managed to piece together the new framework we will be gradually constructing here in whatever materials you make your way through, all we can really do to point you in the right direction is use some existing point of reference. And we could use any number of signposts for this, but here is a recent one that someone just put up, just to get us started - Maybe take a look HERE. That is a video that supposedly has Sadhguru talking about the idea that spiritual enlightenment is about to become available on a much more widespread basis, at least for those few who are ready for such. And the first time I heard that I was very interested, mostly because I didn't believe it. First of all I didn't believe he would ever say that. And secondly, that he wouldn't say it because it really isn't possible. Hence, it is almost certainly fake. Someone just made that up. But still, it got me thinking. And maybe it could get you thinking as well. Why not? Why would he never make such a claim? And what would it mean if he did? Or if someone else did? After all, is this essential transformation not what he is selling? Is that not what all gurus are about? So what might prevent that potential from becoming more widely accessible in the sense being indicated there? Does it not even seem possible that someone might indeed end up saying something like this at some stage in the future? Would that not be the ideal, if they could achieve such? So it still seems reasonable enough to pose this as a question, and to take that as a starting point here, even just as a kind of thought experiment, a 'what if' proposition. For now let's just imagine that someone from within that general worldview did make such an explicit and dramatic claim, and how we might view that from this emerging perspective. We can just use it as a metaphor, as a very rough sketch that we can then draw over in more detail, a kind of jumping off point. Because actually that prospect turns out to be quite interesting in this context, even when you consider why anyone serious might not ever suggest such a thing. I mean think about it, what place would a guru have in an enlightened world? Anyway, no doubt you will be thinking that I am laughing at these claims here, but I am not going to say all of that isn't possible, not in essence. What they are saying there may be entirely correct, at least from a certain point of view. That is not the issue at all. The potential 'transformation' being described there really is possible, another entire state really is available to the average person. This is precisely what 2EQ means. Two stable equilibriums exist for every individual, even though the second one is currently largely unknown, and rarely experienced by anyone at this time in history. A few people seem to find it, but seemingly by accident in most cases, which is why they struggle to repeat that in anyone else on any reliable basis. Indeed, the destination being pointed to there is actually only about halfway to the true destination we need to reach. So if you think that's extreme, then hold onto your hat. That's only first or second base, whereas what 2EQ is pointing at will hit that same ball right out of the park. This is what we will explore here, just as an exercise. We will explain why nobody from that tradition would ever make such a claim, even going that far. And also how the map being used in such cases does not even extend far enough to include the true destination at all, or that whatever vehicle was being proposed would go all that way even if it did. And yet, the ashrams are full. So yes, there will be a few people who would look at something like that and immediately leap for joy in the belief that what is being explained there is entirely true, and that this is all about to happen exactly as indicated. Whereas others will simply scoff at such claims, proclaiming all of that to be just one more example of mystical and spiritualised BS. I mean, even if that wasn't made up, just the idea of an Indian guru touting 'spiritual enlightenment' - didn't we already exhaust that prospect in the sixties? Is there really anything new here? Have people gone soft in the head? But yes, why would they never claim this? The potential itself is real. This is what we will be seeking to establish here, in quite some detail. And it is clearly also what that entire tradition is saying. It is even possible that it might be made broadly available to many people for the first time ever, as indicated. 2EQ also predicts this. But why do we not see this already? Why would we not see it in the form being outlined there. Why is it not presently a reliable and accessible option for people? I mean, it has been a clear focus of attention for a few thousand years within that cultural context, is that not enough time to work it out? It is not available for one reason - it is because making it accessible in that widespread sense is only something that will occur once the true nature of that shift has been sufficiently understood by at least a few, and if that insight is then deployed at a collective level as some kind of 'cultural technology'. And is this essential understanding available at this point? No. Not as far as I know. And likewise with the reliable propagation of that 'release event' in the individual. To see evidence for that would be wonderful, so please let me know if you ever think that is occurring anywhere. That would mean I could relax, and not need to say any of this. Heaven. But we certainly haven't seen anything like that yet. And you would indeed see it in that case, it would be unmistakable. The claim there is of widespread personal transformation into a different state of being, so evidence would be immediately abundant in that instance. But once again, I am not doubting the shift being indicated there. I am merely pointing out the true threshold associated, how demanding that transition might be in most cases, and whether or not that ability could be reached at all, under the current conditions we see today, in the absence of the critical insight this would require. In the simplest sense: if you don't grasp this entire possibility in the correct terms, then first of all you won't be able to facilitate that transition on any reliable or cascading basis, and secondly, you won't be able to appropriately explain it, even if you do manage it occasionally. So what is missing? Here we see the basic claim 2EQ is making - Something important was overlooked, and remains overlooked even now. The essence of that missing information has now been reduced down to a core insight that rests at the centre of 2EQ as a paradigm. So our task here will be to remedy this issue, by first of all explaining what is missing, and by then providing it. So what is 2EQ saying? Can we put it in a nutshell? Perhaps we could abandon our objectively zoomed out position and zoom right in instead, so as to see things from the most personal and subjective position possible, and in doing so also begin to explain the extraordinary range and span of what this emerging paradigm covers - These days there is a lot of talk about consciousness, and although that is not a core consideration of 2EQ per se, it might still be a good place to begin. I will assume you are here. Something is happening? Yes. At least we can agree on this much. But as for the details, even at that level things start to get a bit murky. So what can we know for sure? Firstly - consciousness, at least as we know it, appears to be associated with certain complex neurological functions in the brain. It is anchored in physical reality in a way that seems to find more of it piling up wherever we see more of a particular type of cognitive sophistication. In other words, whether or not brains produce consciousness, or collect it, or channel it from the 9th dimension - the more advanced the brain, the more consciousness seems to be present. And this matters if only because of the way many will try to separate consciousness from physical states, for reasons we will see. That impulse becomes deeply suspect within the 2EQ framework, as being motivated by a very obvious immortality project, and also appears to be misled by the rather obvious observation that a great deal of conscious experience is generated by the mind. The fact that so much experience can be seen to arise out of what seems to be pure attention within a field of conscious awareness does not imply that the broader universe does not independently self-exist, or that consciousness is somehow separate from physical reality. This is the other thing we can know about consciousness as we generally tend to experience it - that it certainly implies or involves various types of illusion. A great deal of what is 'experienced' consciously appears to be merely part of some grand simulation we are running in our head at every moment - a kind of navigational program in a sense - a picture largely built from pure imagination, and yet also largely experienced as being real from an emotional point of view. Whether or not this 'experience' turns out to be real, it is at least supposed to feel real, and by no accident it seems. But just to be clear - if you experience real suffering based only on imagination, with no facts to back up those mental assumptions, does that make the suffering real, or does that just make you stupid? And if you then find yourself coming up with all manner of equally consoling fictional 'realities' in order to balance that sorry equation then is that better, or even worse? So just to be clear - If a very large section of what you 'experience' is ultimately sourced in imagination rather than perception, that doesn't mean physical reality does not exist. It only means we are largely guessing, and that our guesses might in some cases be wrong. We should not confuse our internally generated maps with the actual territory we are navigating. This would be a very big mistake. In any case, consciousness - whatever it turns out to be ultimately - appears to emerge as part of a far wider process of activity that is geared around navigating our way through an equally complex and shifting environment. It is clearly heavily subject to all manner of intrinsic bias and tendency in ways that are just as clearly not intended to be consciously noticed, to such a degree that it might even be defined more by the number of things it is not aware of, rather than the things it is. Like the CEO of a large company or the President of a country, there are many systemic functions that must always remain below the level of executive awareness or control, merely in order to prevent overload and paralysis. What we call waking conscious experience is clearly just a heavily contrived point of reference that is being generated at every moment by a vast body of underlying functioning, but this is also the one thing that it is not informed about. Even the idea that there is a 'self' has been quite clearly established as a myth, as merely being a kind of puppet, a simulated 'crash test dummy' that we send forward into all manner of future projection. But it is also a puppet that is generally not informed about its actual nature, or that it is just a simulation. And this is what practices like meditation or deep philosophical consideration tend to do - they quite quickly begin to deconstruct this illusion, and thereby begin to explain to the puppet that it is just a puppet, which is the beginnings of conscious transcendence. This can in turn initiate a process where the puppet starts to follow the strings back into the deeper unconscious to find out who, or what, is actually pulling them. In any case, an essential element in the way this 'conscious puppet' is constructed in every moment seems to be an intentional capacity to experience both positive and negative emotional states, in just the same way as a CEO might be appropriately motivated to achieve positive outcomes with the promise of a bonus or the threat of overthrow. Regardless, this is a bit of a detour as I say, but it is interesting nevertheless. Consciousness itself remains something of an enigma, and we see a kind of tug of war throughout culture at this point in time. There are those who claim that consciousness is the root and origin of all things, but with another group very convinced that it is an emergent phenomena, and lots of variations in between. It is a bit of a mess. Nobody can really agree. And yet, some things can already be known with some degree of certainty even based on simple observation, as we have seen, and at least science is starting to ask the right questions. That is new. At least it is starting to be taken seriously at last. There are even those who claim that consciousness is entirely illusory, that it is merely a byproduct of this articulated sense of separate self, which does seem to be some kind of functional illusion. But from a direct experiential point of view this is hard to hold up in any meaningful way. Even if you manage to transcend the illusion of self as just defined, so that the system is no longer running this 'puppet program' with such devoted certainty, there remains a clear sense of conscious interiority to experiential life. For the 'conscious subject' - whatever that happens to ultimately be - conscious experience is clearly the most real and important thing of all. It is really all that matters. And I have to assume that a conscious subject is who I am speaking to here. Therefore, this is the position we need to start off from. We are individually conscious within a very clearly bounded organic context, and we have an inner life in that sense, regardless of how all of that is constructed. And so it is within that context that we need to ask all of the most important questions. So far so good. Every sparrow, every mouse, and every other sentient species we might name, are no doubt all in the same basic position - albeit to some different or lesser degree. And yet, we remain unique, but not necessarily in the way we tend to believe. There is an issue. We remain uniquely discontent, and this leads us into searching. We seek more, we look for better, and reach higher. Somehow this isn't enough. And this is the same basic impetus we see expressed in the video above. We are, as supposedly whole beings, nevertheless forever seeking a deeper wholeness. We also have a unique apprehension of death, which seemingly no other animals share. From the typical perspective it all seems to imply that something is missing somehow, a void that needs to be filled, a hunger that needs to be sated, something lost that needs to be found, and this tends to be the presumption. But actually this is backwards, which is what 2EQ will seek to explain. The entire thing has been viewed upside down in a sense. So let's examine it from another perspective, just to see how this might better fit the picture we see - Here is the bit we have missed: What we imagine is only a single thing is actually two things. The conscious experience we know is resting upon an emotional and psychological foundation that is in reality composed of two separate and competing events, both caught in a kind of perpetual struggle for power. And we are not speaking of anything as simple minded as good or evil etc, but a far more complex dance of energy and motivation. A deep functional crisis has emerged in our case, an inevitable one in a sense, but one that has also resulted in the uniform generation of a secondary body of activity within the typical human emotive core - a program running alongside our main program so to speak, like another shopping list being pinned to the bottom of our true list every day, one that has a very defined purpose and structure, and that is also intrinsically concealed from view. Think of all those stories about a 'government within the government', or conspiracy theories about some covert elite who secretly control information and manipulate behavior. Think about our fears that AI will go crazy and want to kill us all in some deluded attempt to protect itself. This is all just autobiographical gossip. That's all quite real in a sense, but these are not things going on out there in the world somewhere, they are things going on within us. It's just that all this twisted activity is concealed, and so - to whatever degree we still sense it at all - we tend to project it outwards. In particular, this undertow of subversive activity is actually a secondary response. It is a kind of 'covering up', a 'breaking apart', a 'hiding away'. That is just the clean up crew, not the real party. The true event at the root of all this trouble is rarely experienced directly in adulthood, and that is how we know this covert agenda is working. It's job is to make sure we never get near it. I understand this is getting a bit complicated, but it isn't that hard to grasp. We see two basic levels of functioning here - conscious and unconscious - and we already assume this for the most part, so this is not new. But in this instance we are splitting the unconscious into two parts, and this really is new. We see the natural unconscious, with all of its evolutionary heritage, tuned to perfection over vast spans of time. But then we see another body of activity that this same system has generated, and which is also explicitly unconscious in nature. And now we are also splitting that added aspect into two parts - the explosive core event, and the surface level containments. The wound and the bandages, you might say. And if this basic idea is all a bit new to you, or if it seems a bit far fetched, then you have probably missed the news. The basic concept was first captured by the likes of Heidegger, and then again by Becker in 1973, and has since been more than adequately researched by TMT etc, so as to produce an unequivocal body of evidence for the basic claim. There's definitely something very big lurking around in those murky depths. So what is that core event? For most people this aspect is now latent, like a dormant volcano, but in its original raw form it makes for quite a show. This aspect requires a full context to be established if we are going to understand it in detail, but we can scratch out an outline here. What we see in modern humans, due to a recent convergence of developments, is a series of functional capacities that - when combined - produce an amazing ability to predict and adapt to changing circumstances in a way that confers incredible survival benefits, but which also happen to have a tendency to produce one very dramatic negative result as a kind of unfortunate byproduct. It is as if our recent software update came with a very serious bug. In particular, the emergence of 'self' as a functional point of reference - within the simulated aspects of our overall field of experience - becomes embedded as a felt reality at a deep emotional level, thereby leading to a dramatic functional loop the moment the imminent reality of death comes into view. The result of this is that it sets up an explosive potential for emotional deadlock, existential fear essentially, which - in order to keep functioning in any kind of normal way, and with a positive internal experience of life - then demands the emergence of a convoluted process of containment and management that is charged with the perpetual avoidance of this particular 'catastrophic' outcome. Like I said, it seems a little complex, and it is. This outline doesn't really do it justice. But in simple terms it isn't really difficult to grasp. We are basically on fire, a fire that is fanned by awareness itself, so even looking in this direction will tend to produce quite negative emotional reactions. That is the very function of this subversive event, and so you may already be experiencing a little of this reaction here. This is the ultimate hot potato in that sense, as we will see. And this internal resistance also explains where all of this information has been hidden. The mechanisms this 'secondary' body of unconscious activity can then employ, as it seeks to perpetually contain this 'unexploded bomb' in the emotional core, are many and varied, as defined by the complex anatomy of the system associated. And this variation in 'management styles' in turn accounts for the vast divergence in the apparent motivations and psychological states we see in people today. It is as if we see a thousand different colours of peacock when we examine typical psychology, but when we pluck them all, in the way 2EQ allows for, what we are actually left with is the same colour of bird underneath all of that. And this is important because of the way it points to this underlying unity. What we might think of as fundamental differences between people are in most cases just surface level affectations, and not who we really are at all. They are just different types of bandages covering a wound that isn't even natural or necessary in the first place. The result of this 'mixed' state, where we have these two events unconsciously intertwined, is what we would generally call 'typical humanity'. This is your life today. And in this sense the entire world we see today is also a situation that is actually being defined not by one psychological agenda, but by two. First of all there is the base program so to speak, and at that level we are advanced primates, displaying all the motivational characteristics associated. At that level we make sense. At that level we are basically domesticated chimpanzees who have managed to either inhibit or transcend many of our instinctive tendencies and impulses in favour of more adaptive responses. At that level we have a puzzle we can solve. But then there is this added activity, with its singular clandestine purpose being expressed in countless different ways, in response to an ever shifting situation. And this makes us something else again, grotesque in a sense, at least compared to our natural expectation of life. We are not actually homo sapiens at all, not in the way we act, and certainly not in the way we tend to experience life subjectively. The result is a game that cannot be won. The purpose of this added activity is not intrinsically malicious, after all it is being produced by the unconscious itself, but due to the integrity of the system needing to be subverted at every moment, the inevitable result is that a price will always need to be paid. The outcome is always a very deep and perplexing process of struggle and limitation, a dynamic and shifting wrestle for control, and all of this occurring down below the level of conscious awareness. We are not informed that any of this is even occurring, not at a conscious level. All we know is that life is hard, that something is missing, that something just isn't right, but no matter where we look we simply can't figure out what it is. For conscious experience it is a kind of self-enclosing trap, a particular sort of private hell. But as we have seen, nothing is missing from this picture at all. Quite the contrary - something very dramatic was added. And this is what I mean about this whole thing being upside down. Several things stand out as being important here. Firstly, this added activity represents a powerful explanation for typical human psychology and behaviour, and in the process resolves many longstanding philosophical conundrums. But most importantly - the moment it becomes clear that this subversive activity is singular in origin, and that it can be just as singularly removed under certain conditions - it immediately shifts a person's entire orientation of life away from one of outward acquisition or experience to one of inward exploration and insight. And then, on the basis of that increasing understanding, to set about undertaking certain very dramatic manipulations. We basically didn't know it was there - not as a separate and distinct added event - and most especially that it might be removed and undone under certain (currently rare) circumstances. This is the paradigm shift. What has previously been viewed as a gain in spiritual terms is actually a loss, and also one that can be entirely understood within an empirical worldview. So when you begin to consider the implications of removing this massive submerged event from the unconscious, and what that might mean, it is pointless to view that in terms of the positivity being gained. That explains nothing. You do not 'get' something in that shift, you 'lose' something. It was just that what is removed is currently so ubiquitous that it is universally present in all people, and that it has never been clearly differentiated. So we haven't been able to see the forest for the trees, so to speak. People don't even know it is there, let alone how big it is, and this means they have no way to conceive of what it might be like to lose it. So does this emerging view fit what we see? Yes. It certainly explains in great detail the typical messy conflict that is the common emotional life. It explains the full range of motivations we see in the average person, using a single dynamic model, and in the process redefines common psychology as not quite being what we imagined it was. In particular, it makes it clear that there was something very important that we missed. It was standing right in front of us all along, so close we couldn't see it. In this way it explains the rule, which is most people, in their trapped state of half-alive struggle. It explains addiction, and depression, and suicide. It explains all the things that people cling to so firmly as life rafts in the storm, and why people are prepared to believe such obvious nonsense with such strident fervor. It explains why the achievement of a 'good life' can be so hard won, and how for many it still remains so far out of reach. In many ways that kind of stable success involves a kind of calloused numbness, and moral blindness, that some people simply aren't prepared to embrace. But on the other hand it also explains the exception, where we occasionally see the arising of a completely different psychological state, and what appears to be a very different motivational framework. We see this rare 'free' person, but we have previously lacked the ability to even begin to explain this other state in any meaningful way. Assuming of course that we would rather avoid leaping to all manner of mystical or religious conceptions of what that other state might be - hopefully we can agree that 'God did it!' has never been a particularly satisfactory explanation for anything. In short, this emerging framework explains that everything outlined in that video above might one day be entirely real, but only from a very particular perspective, and only under very particular conditions. But just to be clear, if you imagine that video went too far, or that the claims were a little spurious or extreme, then as I say, I have bad news for you - they really didn't go far enough. The truth is even more radical than that. In many ways it is twice as bad, or twice as good, depending on how you see it. Here is the essence of the matter: What 2EQ is basically proposing is that the removal of this sprawling and previously unnoticed body of subversive activity, in the singular and unequivocal manner this emerging theory predicts as being possible, is a potential that has historically been named 'awakening', or 'spiritual enlightenment'. And if this is true, then it means that this state is both entirely real, but also that it has been very dramatically misrepresented over time - with the best of intentions of course. But it remains true nevertheless - what it really is has been deeply misunderstood, and just as poorly delivered. Beyond that, however, it also means that this previously mysterious but very dramatic transformative possibility in every individual might indeed be made reliably accessible to all people over time, once the complex dynamics associated with the underlying event have been sufficiently penetrated by at least a few very smart people. But you really would need to add this bit of missing information, this core anatomy so to speak, and to begin to see the whole thing up the other way. And I'm not sure that's what we see there yet. More importantly, and assuming for a moment that this is broadly correct, the implications of what this actually means should not be understated. The practical implications, both for individual happiness as well as the collective as a whole, could be far more dramatic than previously understood. In particular, the broadly cascading possibility being indicated above becomes a very real potential in the wake of finally grasping what is really going on beneath the surface, and in the right terms. But without such insight that would appear to be unlikely - in the same way as you don't see the Indian space agency shooting rockets into space using cosmological concepts they found in the Vedas, or powering such machines with kundalini energy. They do, of course, use aerospace engineering, orbital mechanics, and rocket fuel, just like everyone else. And this is no different. The possibility being indicated - if it exists in the sense being defined - is a functional reality, not a mystical or religious state. It is far more practical than it is spiritual. It only feels spiritual from a subjective point of view, in the same way as chemical compounds like DMT might feel spiritual, but we always need to remember just how much of what we experience consciously is arising based on our own ongoing simulation of reality, rather than being reality itself. This is what happens when we turn all of this upside down as we are doing, suddenly the subjective experience comes to be seen as downstream from the real functions that are driving the whole event. Suddenly we get to open the clock, rather than merely trying to adjust the hands, which seem to have gone a bit haywire. From this perspective, you also come to see that if all you ever do is maintain that direct conscious vantage point, you will forever be lost in the trap we are defining here, if only because the conscious level of life is being intentionally excluded. So you need to go deeper, and adopt a different approach. Large sections of the unconscious need to be made conscious, and that is what 2EQ is all about. It is like gradually lowering the tide of the unconscious so as to begin to see all the previously submerged rocks of causal behaviour - and there is one very hot rock in particular that explains why that tide had been maintained at such an artificially high level. This is what changes when you plug in the missing piece. The moment the true problem is defined, only then will we be able to offer the true solution - one that is not only able to reliably facilitate that shift in people, but also comprehensively explain what it all means without any need to leap to all manner of spiritualism or mystical jargon. The true explanation will indeed begin to produce implementable changes that immediately cascade in the sense being indicated, that is the difference this missing anatomy will make once this blindness has been overcome even in just a few. And that's also what not having this critical anatomy means - it means hit and miss at best. Truly independent propagation of that transformational shift will never be reliable until a very firm grasp is gained regarding the underlying anatomy associated. But the moment you add that, suddenly you get the possibility of a spiralling event that is also fully explained in rational empirical terms, thus laying the firm foundations of an enlightened rational culture. We are going to need new names in order to account for old phenomena that are being made accessible in new ways, as well as being understood in entirely new terms. There is a need for a deep paradigm shift. This is the core insight here. The personal 'transformation' being indicated there, and in many other places throughout history, is not the attainment of anything - it is the relinquishment of something. In particular, it is the final unraveling of the vast body of internal activity being indicated. That's really all it is. Nothing more. Although, given how stable and dynamic that activity is - and how well it will defend itself - that possibility does still imply that a very strategic approach will be needed if you are going to successfully root it out. And that is what this emerging anatomy provides for at last, it explains all the different systems involved, along with all the possible combinations, and thereby gives you a kind of Kung Fu. Suddenly you can predict its movements, and develop tactics in response. But the end goal is always the same, no matter what form it may be assuming at the beginning, or how much any particular variation might fight. The aim is not to merely manage or manipulate it, the goal is to remove it completely. This is why the aim of all these 'spiritual paths' is always stillness. It is not as if 'stillness' is an attainment after all, even a rock can do that. But in this instance the stillness associated is just what remains once we stop 'achieving' this other thing that has been running non-stop in the background for our entire lives. To be clear, however, the activity that is 'removed' in this instance is not only in the mind. And this is why meditation only has a transient rather than a lasting one. It may not even be primarily in the mind, or even active at all, at least not necessarily. It might merely be an imbalance in many instances, or a blockage, or an energetic loading of some kind - or any combination of the above. It is much bigger than we tend to imagine. This is the crucial shift in perspective - the target of this 'transition event' from typical consciousness to a so-called higher state is not a move toward the attainment of anything positive at all, it is actually the final relinquishment of a sprawling complex of subversive motivation and disruption that has been with us our entire lives, and that has a singular defining function at its root. It is very stable, very dynamic, and very powerful - but most especially it is completely invisible. It is almost impossible to see, even when you look, as we will be doing here. Which is not surprising however, given that concealment is its very purpose for existing. The point being - if you don't have a very clear definition of the overall nature and functioning of this concealed event, then rooting it out can be very difficult indeed. At least in any broadly accessible sense. And this is why I doubted the claim in the message above. I think that is possible, but unless they had somehow stumbled upon this missing framework - and in the process completely inverted their basic worldview - then achieving that seemed unlikely. It might actually be possible to achieve this transition without the correct understanding associated, but only in a rather limited sense. After all, we do occasionally see a few rare people find their way free of it. So yes, maybe, but not in any truly stable or upwardly spiralling manner. Especially when you get to see what is really going on beneath. In many ways it might even be regrettable if that did occur, in that successful practice without accurate theory would only tend to falsely validate a worldview that would place a very important picture in the wrong frame. The potential being indicated was never spiritual. It has only been misunderstood by science, and ignored for this reason, but that might be about to change. So what does this mean? It means that the possibility being indicated above is entirely real, and also that it could indeed begin to be made accessible in some cascading manner as indicated, but that it remains very unlikely that it is going to be broadly delivered in the sense being indicated there. Not yet. It could be, don't get me wrong. That is the whole thrust of what this emerging picture indicates. But I believe awareness of that essential anatomy is largely missing in this instance, which will always have serious downstream consequences when it comes to the application of all of this in practice. If that transition really is defined by the falling away of this underlying body of added activity, but if you are viewing it as something else - without any deep awareness of how that subversive event even works - then you really don't even know the very first thing about it. Which will obviously put a bit of a damper on things, if that is what you are purporting to sell. In any case, and once you see what is really going on, much of this becomes clear. The important functional framework, and the necessary terms in which it must be rendered, really only fit within a broader context of scientific thinking about the nature of things. It fits easily with evolution, with the physical universe as an obvious self-existing fact, and requires no mysticism at all. Which is fortunate. Many people will resist any kind of spiritual mumbo jumbo, and perhaps rightly so. But it is possible they will not be so resistant to a empirical claim, especially one that has very high efficacy when applied in practice. Perhaps I should clarify my use of the term 'spiritual' here. I mean that in the 'dislocated from reality' sense that new age prophets might use, but in the grounded sense I suppose reality itself might turn out to be a lot more spiritual than we imagined. I suppose I am merely seeking to distinguish this emerging framework from all of the historical and religious conceptions it has been so deeply mired in. Things always need to be understood in the terms in which they actually consist, and in this instance those terms are structural and functional. They are complex and dynamic. But one thing they are not is mystical, not in essence, at least not insofar as this particular transition is concerned. It might feel like that certainly, but actually what is really going on can be understood in relatively mundane terms. I don't mean simplistic terms of course, but more in the sense that you might understand an internal ecosystem made up of many different interconnected functions, and all the various complicated dynamics associated. So how can we make sense of the claims being made in the world in relation to this transformative potential? That particular video might be made up, but we nevertheless see entire cultures built upon the same basic foundation. So what does all of that look like if you use 2EQ as a vantage point? Does it seem possible that someone might stumble upon this missing anatomy at some point? Somehow I doubt it. It would be awesome for all of us if they did, but unfortunately you would really need to be looking in the right direction in the first place, and I haven't noticed anyone doing that. They are all very firmly 'looking towards the light', which in this instance is the very definition of how the trap works. A capacity to confront and overcome this activity within yourself is obviously essential, and - given how dark that all is - the particular strengths associated with that path are rare. And yet, it would actually be possible to facilitate the shift even without really understanding what it is, especially if you are speaking about only a very receptive cohort. As we have said, we do already see a few rare individuals find this state without any help at all, and with seemingly no theoretical context to guide them. I have even seen that myself. So in any context where enough practical modalities have been accumulated, each being selected on the basis of whatever observable effect they have, you will indeed approach a point where an individual might transition across the threshold 2EQ so clearly defines, and thereby stimulate the release of this concealed internal event, at least in anyone who is very well primed. They will be liberated in this sense. And that is real. But it is also very rare, and remains unlikely in any reliable form. So could it happen? Sure. It could happen. It could even be that we see this arise at some stage over time, as a blind process of iteration and feedback presses forward toward that limited cascading possibility. They have clearly been working very hard on this for some time. But will that be what 2EQ is talking about? No. Here we see another level again being indicated. This is what I mean about 2EQ being even more extreme as a claim. Instead of this potential 'positive release' being made accessible to just a few very highly prepared people, on a somewhat unreliable basis, and within a theoretical context that does not really understand it in any grounded sense - what we see here is the possibility of just a few very highly qualified people being prepared to 'penetrate the negative' instead, thereby making that transition accessible to everyone in a practical downstream sense, and also within a theoretical context that not only grasps it fully but also happens to directly fit with everything we currently understand from a purely scientific point of view. So that would still be awesome, don't get me wrong. If ever they really did manage to get any level of propagating transformation working in that sense then that would be a magnificent achievement. But that is not it. That is not the big noise. That would only be an appetizer in the wider context, not the main meal. The real event is bigger than that, and will only arise on the basis of a very different type of approach, as indicated. It is all about this paradigm flip, and about having the right information, in the right terms, and most especially to have that in the hands of the right people. 2EQ is not about the many moving toward the light. Not at first. That part will only come later, once the applications arrive. In the first instance it is about just a few very brave people getting together to explore the darkest corner of all, and to go to the one place nobody ever goes, so that everyone else won't need to. Strangely, it is not even that dark, not really. It is just a system, like any other system. There is no need to freak out, or to take it all personally. And this is why we need to be speaking to adults now. At least a few people will need to venture into that darkness in order to make the light available to all. The point being - the moment they do, and the moment the insights associated are able to be implemented in practice as an accessible application of some kind, we will see the floodgates open on a process of collective change the likes of which the world has never seen. The moment you have the right foundations down, along with a few people brave enough to venture forth and take a closer look, suddenly the sort of widespread liberation being indicated there not only becomes possible, but in some sense that becomes inevitable. And even if anyone did manage to stimulate this cascading release with a few people prior to having the theoretical aspect sorted out, the result would only be that this theoretical flip would occur regardless before long, as the sheer weight of realisation eventually brought to the fore what was really going on. But that would be backwards once again, like diving into the swimming pool first and putting the water in later. That's why I thought it might be interesting to sketch all of this out using that message as a point of reference. It is interesting to see people talking like that these days. It at least shows movement in the right direction at last. And it could even be that there are some people who are not only interested in the rather spurious possibility being proposed there, but that there might even be a few who are interested in a far more concrete event that goes far deeper again. I mean, how would the world be better off if a thousand people managed to find that 'free state' in a context that did not offer more than that, or even adequately explain what had occurred? Or ten thousand maybe, or perhaps even a million? That might even be detrimental and confusing. A drop in the ocean, and not a particularly significant one. Not for the world, especially not if it then only served to validate backwards and outdated conceptions of life and the nature of reality. But what about ten slightly more mature and less selfish people getting together and forgetting about getting any of this for themselves - at least in the short term - and instead focusing on making that possibility available to all people, everywhere, in a sweeping collective transformation that did not discriminate at all based on prior experience, and that required no understanding at all? What might that be worth? And what if the theory associated with this far more radical prospect also happened to rest very squarely within a practical scientific worldview? Which is the higher outcome? Science will absolutely own it, and gurus will be gone forever. Not that we are against gurus here, but in this context they are just something we have been collectively sucking on in the absence of real food. So when that food arrives, they will no longer be necessary. It is implied. Basically, gurus do not represent the presence of spiritual enlightenment - they only ever represent its absence. So in a world where that 'awakened' state had actually been delivered to all people, they would no longer have any function. That would be like selling ice to an eskimo as they used to say, or water to a fish. It is time for a new day in this sense. It is time to finally get to the bottom of this great mystery at last. And it is time to forever abandon this need for personal transmission and all the social power dynamics it implies. In the future all of that will be seen as being so archaic that it will be hard not to laugh at it, and just how few people walked away from those burger joints with an actual burger. Almost none. So anyway, in light of all that, isn't it a bit ironic that I might be needing to speak to people about all of this in person? It sure is. This is where we come to a level of explosive strangeness that apparently no amount of writing can ever bring back into focus. You will see this outlined in a post called Chewing the Fat, as well as in several of the latest works. And you can sometimes see me railing against this possibility there with all my might, especially in light of what I just outlined about the need to overcome the entire concept of personal transmission as a mode of delivery, and all of the toxic social dependency associated. This was not the plan at all. I first indicated this cascading possibility in a book named Organic Psychology as far back as 2001, along with the basic anatomy associated, and again ten years later in another called Scientific Enlightenment. But in those days I was completely unaware of just how much personal immunity I had built up over time in relation to this underlying event. I had no idea that there would only be so few who would be able to look, and even fewer who would be able to understand, and yet fewer again who would be prepared to actually do anything about it. It all requires a willingness to penetrate this deeper activity within yourself, and apparently not everyone is ready to go upstream in this sense, into the very deep jungle of the subconscious mind. Very few are, it seems. Here we see the rub. It was not hidden in the light. This is the key here. It would all have been discovered centuries ago if that was the case. It was hidden in the darkness, where nobody ever goes, in the pit of human dread. But isn't that always the way? And in this instance going into that darkness would also not be something you do for yourself in the first instance - it would be something you do for the world. Indeed, the impacts at a personal level might even be extremely negative and ongoing. In many ways this personal aspect might even be the quintessential definition of where all of this has been so stuck for all this time. It could all just be that dragging this particular bit of critical information out into the light of collective awareness was always going to be a torture marathon for a single individual, and that by the time they reached this final point where it would be passed over at last that they would be on their very last legs, with their entire life having been completely demolished. It is even possible that this discovery has occurred many times before, but that every other person who found it didn't make it this far before they either collapsed into madness, or simply died due to the stresses associated. None of which would matter at all, except for the recent discovery that the essential core of all this can only be carried over in conversation, rather than in writing. What does it all mean? It means that it is all here if you want it, the real answer to the questions posed in the video above, but that you are going to have to come and get it from me directly. And do you think I like that fact? No. It is completely ridiculous, but I am beginning to adjust to it now. I basically wrote an entire book last year trying to figure out a way to avoid this possibility, but at this point not a single person has ever reached this moment of 'capture' on their own, merely by listening or reading about all of this, whereas so far 100% of those who have taken the time to actually speak to me with this target in mind have been able to come to this point of clarity. So yes, all of this is going to seem somewhat personal here, but it really is personal. That's the whole point. First of all the very nature of the innsight itself is very deeply personal in a way that can come to seem completely normal once you penetrate the whole thing - with much of the unconscious becoming a lot more conscious. But also in my own case in particular, as I now face the ludicrous demand to assist people directly as they piece all of this together for the first time. If they are ready for such, then it can be a hoot. In that case it will be the best thing ever, like watching a rocket lifting off and actually making it into space. But if they are not, then it can be the absolute worst thing - boom! It is an interesting and rather peculiar situation, and it matters here because - in some ways at least - any path ahead here will need to account for the history associated, and all the accumulated imbalances implied. This was the price of the flip we have been indicating in theory, but now we see it in personal terms. There have been lots of catastrophic failures along the way to the success we see here now. And this leaves us with a kind of paradox here. The upside is easy. The thick end of the wedge is fun. And if all you ever do is experience an endless series of positive events, then being a beautiful person is no achievement at all. That is simply natural, perhaps even unavoidable. But as we have seen, if the true answer in this situation was always only going to be found in the very darkest and most complicated underlying reality, then simply looking into the light was never going to find it. So imagine if it was true, that this great potential really does exist, and if it really is just sitting there within easy collective reach. Consider the scale of what is being proposed. Imagine the weight of impetus associated, the moral load. Even just that moral part is like trying to put a million volts through a little light bulb. But then think about what you might need to do in order to point that very profound possibility out to anyone. In the typical human state, as we are defining it here, the avoidance of this particular body of awareness is essentially equivalent to and synonymous with happiness itself, and so in merely seeking to point this out to people, they would immediately imagine you were attacking them. They wouldn't understand at all, and not only the what of it, but especially the why of it. Why would you possibly want to poke them right in the middle of the greatest wound they carry? A pain so deep they basically like to keep it secret, or for the most part try to imagine it isn't there at all. It breaks all the unspoken rules, and violates all unconscious conventions. It is essentially a situation where the highest benevolent action ends up looking like the exact opposite of social intelligence. The very thing you had discovered is something which - if it is working correctly - will powerfully prevent anyone from seeing the very thing you would need to show them. And even if you did manage to make any headway, the result would not be insight, but far more often it would be unconscious hostility. Here we see the price of this particular insight, and also where it had been hidden for so long. We were all looking in the wrong direction. It meant that in order to find the light we were seeking we would first of all need to go through the darkness we had all been avoiding. Or at least that a few will need to do that. And in the first instance, that at least one person would need to. So as I say, this is the paradox. The highest thing ever is going to need to come from the lowest person of all in a sense. It was simply implied by the very nature of the path associated. But this does confront a rather uncomfortable modern truth. The world today seems to reflect and reinforce this same basic error, in that it seems to be set up to only ever celebrate that kind of solipsistic stance, where simple minded people will buy who you are, far more than concerning themselves with what you bring. And especially whenever it comes to anything related to personal development - it is always assumed that you must first of all at least be an exemplar for what you are proposing. But in this case there are no individual examples of what is being proposed, not yet, if only because what is being proposed is a collective event by definition, and because initiating that process was always going to push a single individual to the limits of their endurance, or even far beyond them. Remember, in this instance what you would need to bring is the problem, not the solution, because the problem is the part that has been missing. It is the detailed anatomy of this toxic core event. We have seen the answer many times already, but we could never figure out what it means, or how to repeat it, because we had no idea what was removed, or even that this is what defines that shift. It all has to do with the true problem being a presence, rather than an absence. This is what it means for the simplicity we are all seeking to be found in a complexity that is finally removed and undone. Suddenly you see where the real answer had been hiding all along, but also why it hadn't emerged before now. And with this, you see the cost: bravery. But how much fundamental courage do we see in today's world? Not a lot. And this has had profound consequences in this instance. Basically, this whole thing has completely fucked my life, and apparently it hasn't even started yet. I was being driven at every point by an impulse to release the deepest suffering there is, and at the widest possible level, a possibility that also turns out to be entirely real. But I had no idea at all that most people wouldn't qualify at the initial stages. I really had no idea that the single most important bit of information on the planet might be perceived by most people as being so completely bewildering and obnoxious. And yet, it is not the territory itself that causes all the trouble in this instance. All of that stuff isn't even toxic at all once your aversion falls away. It's actually quite beautiful. The problem is just that it is true. The problem is not just that this submerged event has a job to do, but that it also needs to conceal its own existence as part of that function, and the way this aspect will tend to make communication almost impossible until that particular umbrella of concealment is collapsed. And that's what this 'capture' seems to allow for. So what is so difficult to grasp in the first instance? Where do people go off the rails? And why does that seem to happen so reliably? First of all, what this emerging framework does is that it very clearly places all of this within the reach of just a small and dedicated few. The whole thing. The nature of the situation means that the essential anatomy required to undo all of this trouble in the individual was merely concealed, and not even that difficult, so wider exposure of the path associated might therefore happen quite suddenly, based only on a tiny bit of very casual propagation once it has been defined. And this can be either very scary or very exciting depending on your point of view, given the way it appears to place a great deal of power right in front of us, and within easy reach. It is definitely not an armchair consideration in this sense, and for many people that will awaken ethical circuitry that hasn't carried any charge for years. Some people will even catch on fire! So it always helps if there is someone there at first to put those fires out, and to explain that nothing is required of anyone. Not yet. So they can relax. All of that will come later. At this stage we are just looking, if only because merely looking was the only missing piece in this instance. If anyone had been prepared to simply look then all of this would have happened centuries ago. But mostly it is about the scale and depth of what is being proposed. It is not only about looking, but about the scale of what you see when you do, and the way something this big will not naturally be allowed entry into the mind at first. It just doesn't seem to compute. The basic framework being explained here lays out something that nobody even knew was there, at least not in these terms. To wrongly conceive of this 'removal' in positive terms, in the presumption that something is 'gained' or 'achieved' in that shift, is obviously always going to be so vague and erroneous that it is essentially meaningless. And that is what most descriptions of that state seem to imply, or at least that is how most people interpret such descriptions. But once you see that it is actually just the undoing of something we had not noticed was present, and that this activity can be entirely understood both in terms of its origins as well as its functioning, suddenly you have a framework that is able to tell you exactly what it all really means if it is removed. And in this instance, what it means is a lot more than we might otherwise suspect. It will not only produce a massive shift in a person's internal experience of life, but also have deep and sweeping impacts in the wider world. And all of that was just sitting there, right in front of us. We see a possibility here that isn't even that difficult to initiate, and in a way that will be essentially unstoppable right from the start. It is an absolute bombshell. It is actually so dramatic that people can't even really grasp it at first, as I say. There aren't any historical precedents for anything of this nature, or at this level of impact. Obviously, this outline is too simplistic to do it justice, but the main thing to see is that it represents a very deep insight that makes some important and singular claims about the nature of our true situation, and how there is one particular thing that might be done about it. Then it places the initiation of that clearly within the reach of anyone with enough vision and courage. That's really all it is. What we refer to as this moment of 'capture' is just when you really see it for the first time, and the way this can tend to cause a kind of capsizing of the boat in the sense we have been indicating above. Or, more accurately, that we see the boat turning up the right way again. We have been looking at the whole thing upside down for all this time. Everyone is already capsized in this sense, that is the revelation here. We just didn't realise. We all have this hidden dis-ease, along with everything it implies. But we should also be clear in another sense - what this first moment of capture does not mean is that you accept what is being proposed, and certainly not that you embrace it. It only means that you see it, that's all. It means you understand the basic anatomy of the situation as it is being defined, and therefore that you are finally ready to have a conversation about it. It is not a shift to certainty, in fact quite the opposite - it is more accurately the first moment where doubt might be rigorously and rationally applied. Conversely, you can't even ask the question "is it true?" if you don't have any clear grasp of what the "it" in that question actually is. So to be clear, the brief 'orientation' chat being indicated at the start is not the real conversation. There are two distinct types of chat being indicated here. First there is a context where we will be seeking to make sure this elementary capture has at least been reached, and that we are all on the same page in that sense. Without that, any further conversation would be pointless, as everything that is said prior to that stage would always only be landing upside down. The only purpose of that initial 'orientation' level of exchange is just to check the foundations - a bit like setting up a chess board and explaining the rules. You might even move some pieces around in that context, but once again that would merely be to explain how each part moves. That is not the real game, but the real game cannot begin until that part is done. It is just very unfortunate that reaching this initial starting point still seems to require this two-way rebound in the first instance, but it also isn't that difficult. If you have made your way through all of the introductory stuff then you will already have all the blocks on the table, so all we will need to do is line them up correctly and suddenly you will see the picture emerging out of the chaos. It's actually a lot more exciting than you might predict going into it. Most importantly, it is what follows that matters. Only then do we see the real game emerging, the true conversation in that sense, where people are moving out of the shallow end and together starting to dive a bit deeper. Only then will we see the beginnings of what comes next, as a far greater unfolding begins to take place. And that part is optional, but you can't make up your mind until you see it first. Once again, you can see a post about this first stage here, along with just how difficult it can be for most people to truly grasp without at least a bit of help. So that's all this initial conversation is, it's not the real event. It just means taking a look, and making sure you can see it, at least in outline. You don't even need to go into any details, all of the wider implications emerge out of the general framework. And that's why some people grasp it in 5 minutes. But what you then choose to do about it will be up to you to decide. There is no obligation. As I explained in the Deep End Summary from Something Else, it is just a free tour. In any case there is no true conversation to be had here prior to everyone involved already having at least reached this point of elementary 'capture' first, because as I said - until that point it is as if everything said will be landing upside down. All you will do in that case is just go round in circles endlessly, making no progress at all. So the basic foundations always need to be down first. You can also see me discussing this aspect in First Base, where the scale and nature and overall inimitability of what it proposes are outlined in far more powerful and explicit terms, along with the seemingly incontrovertible fact that failing to stop early on to make sure you pop this 'bubble of blindness in the mind' will have disastrous results. The fact that no constructive conversation can even begin until this foundation is down first also explains why none of this dialogue can be openly public in the normal sense. That simply doesn't work, not without everyone involved - along with all who might be listening - having already been initiated in this sense. Short of that the whole thing will just bounce, and be forever misunderstood. So you can't just stand up and shout about it, no matter how important it might be. In this situation that simply won't work. Only a few people need to know. Anyway, and with this regrettable situation in mind, I did actually attempt to nutshell this initial 'orientation' chat in an appendix I recently added to the end of Out With The Old, but it remains unclear how successful that will be. For most people there will probably still be the necessity to wander up to this first lookout with me, and take a look at the view from there. It's a bit like a gold strike in this sense. We only ever needed to know where to dig, and the moment just a few of the right people do, the whole thing will explode. This seems to be where we are coming to now. But this was the puzzle - any map I previously drew for people always only ever left them aimlessly wandering around in the wilderness, completely lost. Which is why, in complete frustration, I eventually started taking people by the hand instead and literally leading them to it directly, and then handing them a shovel. It seems absurd, and really, it is. But hey - if it works, then it works! Who cares? As long as it works. It turns out that it's actually quite fun, to see the look on people's faces when the whole thing does finally come into view for them. So I've actually come to really enjoy it in that sense. It's like knowing a really funny joke. And certainly people always seem to be very grateful in the wake of having taken that little journey together. So it is always very gratifying. But it's also a very dirty joke, so we always need to find people with the same sense of humour, and who like that sort of thing. That is also only the warmup, the main thing is what comes next, as I say. At some point there will be a feeding frenzy the moment it is pointed out clearly enough within the right context. Crucially, all of this will come from just a few people, not from the many. And it will also come out of the darkness, not out of the light. But most importantly of all, it will impact all people everywhere, not just a select few as they are indicating above. Like a kind of wildfire, it will be completely out of control right from the start, and it won't die down again until the entirety of human suffering has been swept away into ash. So just to be clear, it is actually a far greater claim than even those seemingly absurd assertions we see in that clip. We are literally talking about changing the entire world, and all based on just a few people being prepared to venture into a bit of territory that most people would find too scary to even think about - but in this instance most people don't count. This is the other thing we clarified recently, and perhaps worth mentioning also - that we are only speaking to a very rare few here, at least in the initial stages. Interest might be able to be adjusted, but ability will not be so easy to budge. This is what we have come to accept. So if you don't have it right from the start, then nothing we can do will be able to make much difference. So with capture we finally saw the 'what' of all this, and with this selection aspect we finally see the 'who'. It was all about just finding the right level of audience, and thereby avoiding the possibility of anyone getting out of their depth. Apparently some people already know how to swim in this regard, I just never knew this, so I didn't ever look for it. I was basically waiting for people around me to rise, but in this context that is about as futile as wanting people to be taller just because you are starting a basketball team. So I only needed to stop waiting, and start looking. I needed to stop shaming people for being the rule, and start looking for the exception instead. The idea that anyone might need to be coaxed or cajoled was to miss a key fact. This whole thing is a very big deal, and people who are ready for it are always pretty much ready right out of the gate. They have basically been waiting their entire lives. And I will sometimes refer to such people as being 'smart' etc, but that's not necessarily the case. It seems to be something else again, something that will only shine in this very particular light. They might even be broken I suppose, in the sense that for them this underlying concealment event is not quite functioning correctly in order to block all awareness of its own activity, thereby giving them a unique window into themselves - and others - that most people don't have. So they might often end up becoming psychologists and healers etc, or to just be very interested in such things. Regardless, and whatever it is, what does that 'natural talent' look like in this context? It looks like engagement. It looks like interest. It looks like normal rational dialogue in relation to what is clearly very important subject matter. It looks like the absence of fear, and the presence of recognition. Even an ardent sceptic would be obliged to engage it, if only to pull the whole thing down. And that's totally fine also, but even to do that you are going to need to capture it first. So all roads lead to Rome here - capture is king. But not just any fish, only big fish matter in the first instance. And what is the difference? That requires curiosity, honesty, and courage. It requires active intellectual engagement, at least up until that point where you really see it for the first time. That's how you tell a big fish apart from all the rest. It is not something I can give you - all of that has to come from you. So that's what changed. There will be no more swimming lessons here. That's not what we are doing. You can certainly jump in the shallow end and splash around a bit, as we may be doing in that initial chat etc, but that will not be a lesson - it will be an audition. This explains the final answer to the final problem, and thereby charts the way forward, towards reaching what appears to be an explosive threshold. Being able to achieve this essential capture so reliably in conversation represented a kind of breakthrough in a sense, but it also made the whole thing very personal all of a sudden. This is one more reason why the level of audience has become so important. It was a very hard won lesson, especially for me personally, given how strongly it goes against my instinct toward inclusiveness. But somehow I had to find a sustainable way forward in the face of a situation that now appears to be asking the impossible. It was never the hostility of stupid people that caused all the damage, after all that is completely natural in this instance. That is to be expected given the nature of the territory, when combined with the average IQ. I can also handle the loss, the sacrifice, and all the historical torture associated with the path. That is also natural. None of that matters, and I am never complaining if ever I indicate that sort of thing. This is the real thing that always caused all the damage - it was never the dumb people, but rather the pervasive ignorance and passivity of really smart people. That is the part that has been truly soul destroying. There really is only so much bullshit anyone can take. This is the truth of the matter. And I am exhausted. But perhaps I need to explain what I mean when I talk about the cost of the path taken, and the particular loading associated. If I had been prepared to simply give up on people, and to accept the world as it is, then there would have been no problem. But apparently I am nothing if I am not tenacious. This is something you will never experience, if only because by the time you get to see any of this the bough will already have broken. The main cost has been a loss of faith in humanity as a whole, an erosion of trust, and an ever rising tide of internal misanthropic contempt. It was a path that required tremendous empathy at every point, but in a context where maintaining that really was increasingly difficult. So the question for me, even as I face more sacrifice at this moment, is no longer whether people can be saved - the question now is whether they deserve to be. This is obviously a terrible sentiment to express, but this is what very deep compression looks like in this particular context. This could be exactly the barrier that apparently nobody in history has ever been prepared to penetrate and overcome. It is a situation that defines 'normal' as being completely unacceptable, which is obviously not going to be a very popular stance to adopt. But if it is true, then what are the other options? There is only one way out of this trap, and it is going to take more than one person. So what can we do other than simply say it? But in what form, and to whom? The only thing that matters is igniting the events being defined, especially given how near we are to that now. So it is a failure to rise to the minimum demands associated with forward movement that becomes intolerable at this point, if only because of how dangerous that might be if it means we ultimately fall short of the mark. So make no mistake - what you see here now is failure, not success. We are falling back on an option that might be very secure, but it sure isn't going to be pretty. Even the fact that I am talking about myself in this way is a very bad sign. Of course. And yet, take a look in my cart. It's not about me, it's about what I am pulling. This is the point I suppose. It is an insight that changes the entire landscape. That is exactly what you see once it does come into view. And only in that frame does my own connection here also start to make more sense. You will no longer be thinking I am ranting once you reach that point, and will be starting to wonder how I might have been so incredibly calm. That is only ever the perception prior to seeing it for the first time. So how could any stance that makes normal so unacceptable be right? This is what you need to see for yourself. It all shifts the goalposts in a direction most people can't even look, let alone run. But it also defines only a few as being required, and those few don't find it toxic at all. Quite the opposite. This explains my own big mistake, and why it cost me so much solitary confinement and hard labour - I just didn't know that I was part of an extreme minority in that sense, one of the few who can swim in this regard, rather than drown. So all we ever needed to do was narrow our search down to just this small group, and only ever offer this possibility of 'capture' there instead. But no, most people are not listening. They actually can't listen for the most part. It is simply beyond their power. They just aren't smart enough, strong enough, brave enough, honest enough. And in this context that is completely natural, it might even be normal, and in many ways entirely balanced. What is being proposed really is outrageously absurd in many ways, even if it does turn out to be correct in the end. And there are also very powerful internal forces that will immediately seek to obliterate such awareness at all possible costs. So from any typical vantage point not listening would appear to be an entirely valid and normal response. And not being able to see would also be quite normal. But it also cannot be tolerated now, not within the narrow boundaries of this very limited and entirely 'unnatural' event we see emerging here. We are going to be doing something very different here, something very strategic and strongly against the grain, and we cannot afford to confuse apples with oranges in that sense. So yes, all of that may well be natural in this context, given the very nature of the insight and where it was all hidden. Fear is natural. Weakness is natural. Cowardice is natural. Stupidity is obviously everywhere, and only multiplying by the day. Which means that we really have no option in this case but to seek out these rare freaks - people who are both morally interested, as well as intellectually capable. They are not normal people, and that's okay. That's totally fine. This is not a normal event. Anyway, you can see me chewing this over in many of the recent works, as I desperately tried to come to terms with what it means to have come so low at this point, to be so compressed, so old and grumpy, and what the way forward might look like in light of this need to guide people in this direct and personal way. But there is really only one final recipe - What it means is the establishment of a boundary here, a very clear threshold across which anyone might step. Like a boxing ring, or a playing field, or a swimming pool - these are not casual contexts, and you should obviously not enter any if you are not prepared to fight, or play, or swim. And the same is true here. This is how it remains focused and sustainable now, because only in that context am I immediately released from my own personal hell, like a drowning man who is finally allowed to get a breath. At that moment I am transformed, if only because at that moment I begin ascending back into the light, rather than falling deeper into the ethical abyss. Essentially, we all need to rise to the obvious demands at every point, so all I can do is remain committed to this outcome being reached, without reservation or relent. And in practice what this means is to reserve my remaining time and energy for only those who define themselves as being very clearly above this line. And yet, how would you even know if it is a game worth playing, or a team worth joining, even if you did have the muscle? How can you possibly decide such things if you don't first have the opportunity to take a look? That's precisely what I will be offering here right at the start, at least until that initial 'capture' becomes possible in some other format. A free tour. We can just chat, and see where we end up. It isn't difficult at all. But yes that does mean stepping outside of this boundary in order to engage with people briefly, in particular with people who have not yet come to this point of clarity. So it will be toxic at my end by implication, and that's what I am explaining. We need to elevate the game. I am prepared to make that sacrifice - if you are prepared to meet me halfway. That's the deal here. We can go up and take a look together, before we do anything else. Nothing less than that will be engaged beyond this point. And this is also why I will only be speaking to a very select few in the first instance - only those who have been directly invited by someone involved, and who express sufficient interest. I won't be involved at that level, but I assume those in charge will only be offering this possibility to a very carefully selected few. The whole thing is completely outrageous, don't get me wrong. In some ways this has been the one thing I have been seeking to make plain here. It is bizarre, and absurd. We are talking about something that will start as nothing at all, but then spiral up very rapidly to be the biggest thing ever. We are also talking about some complete nobody who nevertheless somehow managed to hit the jackpot. It is all very hard to accept. But we are also saying very clearly that if you have not yet bothered to take the brief journey indicated, then you really haven't earned the right to even have an opinion on the matter. You can't say anything in that case, because until then you haven't seen it yet. All of which means that it is you we are waiting for now, not me. I'm not even going to try to tidy it up in this format. So this is not it, this is not the real game. It is all here if you want it, but you are going to need to come and get it. We are always just going round in circles now, whenever we write about it. Getting the conversation going is the only thing. In any case, that is what 2EQ is all about. It is about having what it takes to just jump in and take a look. All I can do now is answer questions. There might be no safe way, no clean way, no right time, no being ready. There are only the right people, and if we can find them then nothing else will matter. That's all we are left with now. But it will certainly be enough. It might not work off the page, but we are miles over the line here in dialogue. Even chatting on a forum would probably do it just as well. It just can't be a one-way event, as we are doing here. In particular, you will find that initial 'orientation' possibility outlined in the Shallow End Invite document, so that is where you will need to begin. Then you could take a look at the introductions and primers etc, as you will see them listed below in various forms, or perhaps see the NEW PRIMERS for the most recent iterations. But sooner or later you will need to heed the warning just offered and take that plunge. You simply must have this ‘orientation’ chat before you go too far up this tree, if you are not going to completely waste your time here. You would certainly be missing the mark by reading any of the big books prior to doing that, because they will all just go straight over your head in that case. Trust me. Conversely, once you do achieve this basic 'capture', all of those will open up like flowers in the sun. We won't need to talk at all further after that initial chat, although by then you might certainly want to. The deep end is fun once you can swim, and there is a lot more to see that has never been written down. But yes, you will need to have been invited, and that's why we will be trying to keep this page on the downlow. The very last thing this needs is broad public exposure. You will have been provided with my direct email in that case, in order to get access to the deeper materials for free. Beyond that, however, and if it happens that you have somehow stumbled upon this page randomly in a sense, and if you nevertheless think you might qualify, then you can always contact us here with some outline of your interest. Or even if you think you have already grasped it in essence and would simply like to join the conversation, then once again, be in touch. You never know. We might at least be able to kick the ball around a little, just to see if you can play. But I suppose the forum is there for this purpose in the end, so that would be the place to start. Ask a decent question and you will get a decent answer. In the meantime there is really only one thing we need to be focused on here, which is to prepare the way for a far bigger event, for when the applications arrive rather suddenly at some point. With this in mind this website is just kind of a placeholder at this early stage, a blank slate, an empty stage upon which all manner of things might emerge over time. Feel free to login and have your say. Until then, you might start off with a few of the older resources available at this point - The Wonky Weeble (the simplest overview of what 2EQ is all about). (free video) The Snapshot Overview from Something Else (a first attempt to capture the shallow end chat sequence in writing) (free audio) Deep End Epilogue from Something Else (explaining the stages) (free audio) The Easy Book (paid audiobook) The Hard Book (the ‘Magnum Opus’ of 2EQ - several candidates being discussed, some already published as indicated below) For further orientation about what - and who - this forum is for, you might also see some of the items linked from some of the posts in the Orientation and Resources sections. Several books can also be found here in print copy and eBook formats. But as I say, if you have not already read the Shallow End Invite then you will basically be wasting your time with all of that. The books will be like locks with no keys. These books are in most cases also only early unedited manuscripts, and will no doubt be significantly tidied up before long, so if you want to get one in its original raw state then now would be the time. Overall, the purpose of this website is not to broadly promote the paradigm associated - it is simply not that sort of thing. This is not a social movement, it is not a club to belong to, it is not even a philosophy to adopt. There is nothing to believe here. There is only a small process to initiate, and a very big outcome to achieve. Only a few will need to know all of this in order to make the insights available in practical form to everyone. And yet, those few will indeed need to know, and with that in mind we are doing everything we can here to prepare the way for them. Please be aware, however - and as we have hopefully already indicated here throughout - that some people are always going to find the subject matter more than a little challenging, in which case some sort of negative reaction can be expected. Apart from anything else 2EQ is a very fierce mirror, and some people simply don't like that sort of thing. With all of this in mind, it might eventually be necessary to approve all posts - leaving them in a moderation queue by default. That would be regrettable, but I suppose we will find out before long. We will start by leaving the General Forum open and see how it goes. We remain open to any suggestions. HR PS - no real names please.
